UFO Invades Spruce Peak
The S.S. Flying Rabbit invaded Stowe’s Spruce Peak last Sunday and found itself entered in the annual Mt. Mansfield Easter Parade. A distinguished group of Stoweites, disguised behind various hats, sunglasses, and cigars, served as the judges of the gala affair. Below: Also present was the famous cartoon strip character, Snoopy, hoping to run across the Red Baron. ... Nine year old Greg Doremus of Stowe won the free pass from the Mt. Mansfield Company. Vt. Jr’s Sweep Tri-state Races
... Mt. Mansfield’s Molly Dever and Todd Buik each copped a second place trophy in the two run slalom held in the Middlebury Snow Bowl. ... Cecelia Teague ... managed to place fourth overall despite being some 15 seconds off the winning pace. ... The Vermonters handily won the team title with New York second and New Hampshire third.

Herb Hillman, owner of the Golden Eagle Motel, has been named the new President of the Stowe Rotary Club. He will succeed Julian Malkiel whose one year term expires at the end of June. Other officers elected by the Directors for the ensuing year are Clem Curtis, Vice President; Dick DeGrasse, Treasurer; and Bob Neverton, Sec.
