Kimberly A. Haab of Stowe received an award at St. Lawrence University’s Moving-Up Day ceremony on Saturday, April 26, in Canton, N.Y. Haab is majoring in conservation biology. A member of the Class of 2016, Haab graduated from Stowe High School.
Haab was presented with the Outstanding Sophomore Award, which is given to the top two sophomore leaders who show a high degree of involvement and potential for leadership in scholarship, athletics, campus activities, media and the arts.
Moving-Up Day celebrates student achievements in academics and co-curricular activities. The campus tradition dates from 1869, when it began as “Tree Holiday” to add trees to the campus landscape. The day has evolved into an occasion for the recognition of student achievement, and a symbolic “moving-up” of students to chapel pews vacated by students a year ahead of them.
