Michele Ann (Bolin) Altadonna, 69, died peacefully at home in Stowe Friday evening, March 28, surrounded by her loving husband and four children. Michele was born Aug. 17, 1944, the beloved daughter of Lt. William Bolin and Bernice (Bagley) Bolin. After William died in 1945, Bernice married John Wilmot of Pittsford, N.Y.
Michele graduated from Pittsford High School in 1962.In 1967, she married Lynn Altadonna and together they raised four children, first at several Air Force bases, then in New Milford, Conn., and Stratton Mountain, Vt. After several years in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., they retired to Stowe in 2000 to be close to children and grandchildren. Through her gentle spirit, she cultivated a great many close friends in each location. Michele enjoyed spending time with her family and was a great model, teaching her family to love and laugh together. Her home was always a hub of activity for her children and their friends. Her avid reading took her to places she loved: the Maine coast and the Italian and Irish countryside.
Michele was predeceased by her parents and her second child, Michael Lynn. She is survived by her husband, Lynn, and her children and their families, Matthew F. Altadonna and wife Michele of Essex, Vt.; Dr. Christopher P. Altadonna of Stowe, Vt.; Annemarie E. Altadonna and husband Stefan Richter of Monkton, Vt.; and Katharine Altadonna Morley and husband Tom of Gates Mills, Ohio. Michele has nine grandchildren that love her: Molly, Maren, Mason and Myla Altadonna of Essex, Vt.; Lucas and Sascha Richter of Monkton, Vt.; and Jeffrey, Sadie and Henry Morley of Gates Mills, Ohio. She’s also survived by her siblings of Pittsford, N.Y.: brothers Bill Bolin and wife Kathy, John Wilmot and wife Liz, and Jim Wilmot and wife Cindy; and sisters Cynthie Beswick and husband Jim, Bee Terrell and husband Chuck, and Maribeth Selke and husband Phil.
The funeral service will be held at The Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Stowe, Thursday, April 3, at 11 a.m. She will be buried in White Haven Cemetery, Pittsford, N.Y., on Saturday, April 5, with a memorial mass celebrated at St. Louis Catholic Church in Pittsford at 11 a.m. White-Fiess Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
