Alicia “Lisa” Louise (Churchill) Martin, 64, of Jeffersonville died of lung cancer on Friday, June 12, 2015.

Alicia “Lisa” Louise (Churchill) Martin, 64, of Jeffersonville died of lung cancer on Friday, June 12, 2015.

She was born Aug. 26, 1950, daughter of Charles and Donelle (Sweet) Churchill.

She married Lawrence Martin June 5, 1995.

Lisa had a huge heart and was forever doing things to help others. She will be missed by many.

Every cat in the neighborhood (and even those that just happened by) knew that they could always find food and a safe haven in her home. Some came just to visit, but many stayed and made it their forever home.

She often made trips to New Jersey (but not as often as she would have liked) to see her daughter and grandchildren and made many friends at a local antique shop as well as the restaurant where her son-in-law worked.

Lisa was self-employed, landscaping and gardening and/or cleaning for many of her friends (because that is what all of her clients became).

Lisa and Larry also ran a small antique shop in Jeffersonville called Awreatha’s Garage at the Red Fox, otherwise known as “Awesome Stuff,” where people would come to shop or just to visit. Everyone knew that, if Lisa didn’t have what they were looking for, she knew where to find it. Her phone was constantly ringing.

Survivors include her husband, Larry; her daughter, Galadriel Hasbrouck of Cranford, N.J.; her grandchildren Chloe and Charlie Hasbrouck; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lyman and Joan Churchill of Hyde Park, and Ronald and Arlene Churchill of Manchester, N.H.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tom and Linda Martin of Wolcott and Keith and Susan Martin of Hyde Park; and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents died earlier, as did her sister, Georgia Adams, and her son-in-law Robert Hasbrouck.

There will be no services. At a later date, a memorial gathering will take place in her gardens, where she was the happiest.
