Stowe Vibrancy will present its second annual Chowderpalooza! contest, and Art on Park returns to Stowe village on Saturday, May 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The rain date is Sunday, May 24.
Area chefs will serve up their favorite chowders to be judged by the community. Participants include The Bench, Burt’s Pub, Cactus Café, Depot Street Malt Shop, Gracie’s, Harrison’s, PieCasso, The Pizza Joint, Round Hearth, Spruce Camp, Ten Acres Lodge, and The Whip Bar and Grille.
Chowders include New England clam chowder, Cajun corn crab chowder, mussel chowder with saffron, and corn chowder with bacon. Taste them all for $5 and vote for the best.
Art on Park, Stowe’s local artisans market on Park Street, will open for the season, offering unique jewelry, pottery, crafts and fine art, plus activities such as face painting. Matt Borello will provide live music on the Village Green.
