Barre may be best known for its granite quarries and its fantastic sculpture garden-like cemeteries, but for a couple making wedding plans, it can be a one-stop-shopping mecca.

Downtown Barre is filled with shops and vendors who can cater to almost all your wedding needs — from the engagement and wedding rings to the perfect wedding cake.

Plan to take a day and check out what Barre has to offer — you might find that you can accomplish a lot without a lot of running around.

A great place to start is a Delicate Decadence Cake Boutique — a bakery-café where pastry-chef owner Michelle Lunde makes beautiful and mouth-watering desserts of all kinds.

Grab an espresso and a breakfast pastry and ogle the array of cakes that Michelle has created — from classic and elegant cakes topped with fresh flowers to rustic creations inspired by nature.

Delicate Decadence has plenty of parking and will deliver its cakes anywhere in Vermont. Open Tuesday-Friday, 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
