Rebels down Redhawks in continued game

South Burlington scored in the bottom of the 11th inning to beat the Redhawks 2-1 in a continued game on Wednesday, April 22. Rayne Supple hit a double in the 10th inning but it wasn’t enough. CVU’s Sam Mikkell took the loss. After the loss to the Rebels, Supple went 3-for-4 to lead Champlain Valley past Vergennes 15-0 on Saturday, April 25. Supple pitched four innings and allowed one run and struck out 10 in the win. Landon Carpenter, a single, double, three RBIs, two runs, Shea Ireland, 3-for-4, two RBIs, and Jack Dugan, 2-for-3, RBI, two runs, supplied the additional offense for the Redhawks.

CVU softball team wins shutout

Champlain Valley shutout Vergennes 15-0 thanks to Elizabeth Boutin, who had two hits and four RBIs, and Claire Potter, who had three hits including a two-run single. CVU’s Lila Ottinger and Natalie Gagnon contributed two hits apiece. Hattie Roberts earned the win.

Track & field competes for second time this season

The boys and girls track & field team competed at the Essex Invitational last Wednesday, April 22. The results were as follows: Girls: 400: 2. Olivia Cuneo, CVU. Boys: 200: 3.
