The Rice Memorial High School Boys Golf Team captured its first ever Division II State championship in the history of its athletic program on Wednesday, June 4 at the Country Club of Vermont. Shelburne residents, freshman Harrison Thayer and junior Brendan Thompson, competing in the third and fourth spots respectively, helped the team finished with a low score of 327. Thayer carded an 81 and Thompson scored 96 while Caleb Connerty contributed a 72 and Sam Myers added a 78 in the winning effort. During the regular season Shelburne residents freshman Alex Bond and sophomore Hugh Sheahan also contributed to the winning season.
