CVU boys’ soccer players ended their season on a high note, beating Rutland last week.

Football

Jake Bowen and Isaac Bergeron each threw for two touchdowns, while Max Destito threw for 157 yards and one touchdown.

Shane Gorman had seven catches for 79 yards and two TDS, while Will Murphy, Brendan Murphy, Tyler Diemer and Alex Hilgerdt each caught one TD pass.

Ryan Walker added three catches for 48 yards.

Girls’ Soccer

Champlain Valley 4, South Burlington 0: The Champlain Valley girls soccer team finished with their fourth unbeaten regular season in a row with a victory over South Burlington last Thursday.

Josie Pecor had two goals and one assist for the Redhawks, who finish with an 8-0 record. Chloe Pecor and Catherine Gilwee each added a goal, while Rowan Godbout and Olivia Zubarik each chipped in with an assist.

Ella Polli and Emma Allaire combined to earn the shutout in goal.

Boys’ Soccer

Champlain Valley 3, Rutland 0: The Champlain Valley boys soccer team wrapped up the regular season with a win over Rutland on Thursday, the team’s fifth shutout of the season.

Holden Batchelder had two goals for the Redhawks, who finish with an 8-2 record. Henry Bijur added a goal, while Cooper Whalen dished out two assists.
