Shelburne Cubscout Pack 607 held its annual Pinewood Derby in the Town Gym on Saturday, March 14.  With 24 boys participating in the scout class, racing was fierce.  The top three fastest racers for the day separated by only 0.01 seconds, and in the Champion round, 1st and 2nd place were only 0.001 seconds apart.

The Pack had two award categories celebrating speed and a design excellence.

Speed winners by den are as follows:

Tiger Den: 1st Place, Elijah Tomsen; 2nd Place, Aedan Curley; 3rd Place, Will Wigmans.

Wolf Den: 1st Place, Will Kallock; 2nd place, Preston Mckinney; 3rd Place, Caleb Greenslit.

Bears: 1st Place, Brendan Hawko; 2nd Place, Fisher Irwin; 3rd Place, Sean McLaughlin.

Webelos: 1st Place, Jake Morris, 2nd Place, Ryan Boehmcke

Speed Pack Champion Round:

1st Place: Fisher Irwin

2nd Place: Brendan Hawko

3rd Place: Sean McLaughlin

Design Excellence was recognized in the following categories:

Best Scout Theme:  Fisher Irwin

Most Patriotic Theme:  Harrison Wade

Best Automotive Theme:  Griffin Hengelsburg

Best Non-Car Design: Daniel Knight

Best Workmanship/Paint: Sean McLaughlin

Judges Special Award: Niko Kapsalis

The Pack would also like to recognize the fastest of our Scout siblings: Conner Greenslit, Jill Knight, and Thomas Schramm.

Pack 607 continues its program of coaching boys to develop outdoors skills and responsible citizenship through hands-on adventures.  The program is year round for 1st to 5th graders from the towns of Shelburne, Charlotte, and Ferrisburg.
