Bring a touch of magic and warmth to your family’s holiday experience this year. The Lake Champlain Waldorf School is hosting their annual two-day, European-style fair and magical family event that truly finds the heart of the holiday season—and all are welcome.

The Holiday Fair begins with an Artisan Market for adults and older teens on Friday, Dec. 4 from 6:30pm to 9pm. Enjoy a mini creperie, savory treats and browse for all your holiday gifts from over 60 artisans. This is a curated Artisan Market; offerings include natural fiber crafts handmade with wool or felt, upcycled clothing and bags, cards, jewelry, quilts, pottery, handmade salted caramels, chocolates, art, beeswax candles, henna kits, handmade accessories, aprons, scarves, hand-turned wooden bowls and cutting boards, woodblock prints, and many gifts for children including books, doll houses, gnomes, doll clothes, and handmade toys and Waldorf dolls.

“We want to bring a special, handmade shopping experience to our community,” said Artisan Market organizer (and LCWS alumnus) Lindsay Francescutti. “The artisan fair is high-quality, with points for everyone.”

On Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10am to 3pm, along with the Artisan Market, the whole family is welcome to enjoy one of the most magical holiday experiences in our region. Children will be enthralled with an unforgettable visit to the “Crystal Cave of the Snow Queen and King.” There is the famous “Angel Room,” where children can pick out a few exquisite hand-made treasures to give as gifts (like acorn babies, birth bark votive candle holders and scores of more).

There is craft making with natural materials, two play performances, face painting, a “Game of Fortunes” (with fancy cakes and cupcakes as prizes), and jump rope making. In the kindergarten, a room is open for simple play and bread baking. The bustling artisan market continues all day, and visitors can enjoy African drumming, holiday singing, homemade, healthy, bistro food and more. Bring your family early because you’ll want to stay the whole day. Admission is free, and activities cost $1 to $4. The school is located at 359 Turtle Lane in Shelburne. To get there, turn west off of Rt. 7 at Harbor Road light, right on Turtle Lane.

The Lake Champlain Waldorf School is an independent, non-profit, co-educational day school for preschool through high school students, integrating academics with the arts to build every student’s capacity to love learning.
