A yard sale that benefitted the Kevin Riell Scholarship Fund last weekend was an amazing success, thanks to the community members who stopped to shop, chat, and donate to the cause. A grand total of $2,176 was raised.
The Riell family would like to thank Maedean Birmingham, the brainchild and organizer of the event, as well as those who donated the gently used items, along with special friends Dennis and Elaine who worked the sales, and Falls Road neighbors and friends who lent a helping hand. Kudos to the following business for the donated food items: Shelburne Supermarket, Boars Head, Davis Family Provisions, and Koffee Kup Bakery.
The Kevin Riell Scholarships for 2015 were awarded to CVU graduates Alec Collins and Lisa Schold during graduation on Friday, June 12 at Patrick Gymnasium in Burlington.
