Two people have died as Hurricane Idalia ripped into the coastal area of Florida leaving chaos in its wake.
The victims died following car accidents in Gainesville, Florida, and Pasco County, north of Tampa, which are believed to have been caused by the adverse weather conditions.
Idalia, which smashed into Florida south of Tallahassee at Category 3, has now been downgraded to a tropical storm.
