South Burlington Fire Department has taken delivery of a brand new fire truck. The city has been planning for the purchase through the Capital Improvement Plan, which over a period of years has earmarked a portion of the yearly budget for the replacement of outdated apparatus. The new $610,000 vehicle takes the place of a truck that has been in use for nearly 19 years. Fire Chief Brent expects the new truck will be fully operational in a few weeks.
