Chugging Through South Burlington on the Burlington and Lamoille Railroads
Railroad enthusiasts and history buffs filled City Hall Sunday, March 22, for a presentation by Jerry Fox, a local historian and railroad expert. Using old maps and photos interspersed with current pictures as a frame of reference for location, Fox traced the early paths of the Burlington and Lamoille Railroads though the eastern part of South Burlington.
The well attended presentation, ‘Chugging Through South Burlington on the Burlington and Lamoille Railroads,’ was hosted by the Chittenden County Historical Society. The organization has introduced the idea of establishing a group with a specific focus on South Burlington as the city marks the 150th anniversary of the first Town Meeting, held in March 1865.
