It’s Official!! South Burlington Has Made the Quarter Finals of the Georgetown University Energy Prize!

Now it’s time to get to work organizing, developing programs, generating ideas, and recruiting volunteers!

The SBEP team will be working with the community over the next 2 years on reducing electric and natural gas usage in the residential, municipal, and school sectors. The project also includes an educational component, public events, and engagement with the whole community!

An informational and volunteer recruitment night is planned for Monday August 18th 7-9p.m. at Healthy Living in the learning center on the first floor. The committee is looking for people from every corner of South Burlington and there are many ways to help, both large and small. It’s going to be an exciting 2 years as we join 51 other cities across the country (including 2 others from Vermont) working together and in competition on energy issues that will make our lives more comfortable, put a little more money in our pockets, educate our children, conquer problems, find solutions, and make South Burlington vital and sustainable as we move into the future.

Let’s put Vermont on the national map and win the prize!! Mark your calendar for the August 18th meeting! If you can’t make the meeting but would like to be involved or learn more please feel free to add your name to this quick survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SBEP.
