Jerry Cogg, 43, of Morristown, was arrested for domestic assault after further information was brought forward about an incident from Oct. 15, 2022.
Samantha Walters, 28, of Morristown, was arrested for financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult, extortion threats, and providing false information to police, following an investigation into an April 18 incident on Portland Street.
Amanda Stuart, 44, of St. Albans, was arrested for retail theft, following an investigation into an April 19 incident at Hannaford.
Adam Laraway, 40, of Morristown, was arrested for unlawful trespass, following an investigation into a May 13 event on Center Road, in which he was seen at a previous residence from which he had been ordered to stay away.
May 19 at 11:30 a.m., someone tried to pass a fake $100 bill at the Route 15 Maplefields. They were thwarted and the store management turned the bogus Benjamin over to police.
May 19 at 12:07 p.m., someone complained about the music playing from a radio near the post office, something police say the radio’s owner has permission to do.
May 20 at 12:24 a.m., a teenager sped off after police tried to pull him over and kept speeding all around town, despite police opting not to give chase. Instead, they waited until the kid invariably drove off the road into a swampy area and arrested him, without further incident for gross negligent driving, driving under the influence and eluding police. The youth’s name is being withheld because he’s a minor.
May 20 at 3:44 p.m., a drunken individual was taken into protective custody and brought to Copley Hospital to detox.
May 20 at 8:54 p.m., a Randolph Road resident said someone stole about $2,000 worth of tools, fishing poles, a cornhole set and other stuff. Police are investigating.
May 21 at 12:13 a.m., Christopher Lafreniere, 41 of St. George, was arrested for driving under the influence, second or subsequent offense, following a traffic on Laporte Road. Police say he registered a 0.146 percent blood alcohol concentration back at the station.
May 21 at 4:50 a.m., police summoned a wrecker to come tow away a truck that was sitting dead on the side of Randolph Road.
May 22 at 7:45 a.m., police intervened in a dispute at MSI and manufactured a solution to the issue via mediation.
May 22 at 8:30 a.m., a NAPA courier vehicle on Munson Avenue was hit by a nondescript gray car that took off without owning up to the collision.
May 23 at 10:17 a.m., Justin Douglass, 36, of Brighton, was arrested on an in-state warrant after police pulled over a vehicle in the village and saw Douglass in the passenger seat.
May 23 at 12:38 p.m., someone called, worried about the welfare of some dogs in a yellow bus on Stafford Avenue. Police checked it out and saw the owner had the bus door open with a fan blowing and a bowl of water for the pooches.
May 24 at 8:45 a.m., a car that had been found on the road, dead, was towed away at police request.
May 24 at 1:30 p.m., some German shepherds that escaped from their Best Street enclosure were shepherded back into their home.
May 24 at 4:35 p.m., a man allegedly stole the donation box outside the library, which library officials say contained $20 and will cost about $100 to replace. The library didn’t press charges, but the man was issued a no-trespass order.
May 26 at 7:32 a.m., a person reported finding a hypodermic needle on the ground on Upper Main Street, tossing it in the trash before police could come and dispose of it safely.
May 26 at 8:08 a.m., someone smashed out the windows of a vehicle parked on Westside Court. Police are investigating.
May 26 at 10:28 a.m., a woman who sold a gun to person was worried because she didn’t go through a federal firearms licensee as require by law. She got the gun and money back and planned on doing it by the book next time.
May 26 at 3:50 a.m., someone was concerned about the welfare of two dogs in a black truck on Richmond Street being neglected, but police checked and said they were fine.
May 26 at 9:44 p.m., Joshua Simpson, 33, homeless, was arrested on an in-state warrant and transported to jail for the night.
May 27 at 10:59 a.m., Adam Laraway was arrested again, this time along with Seiara Abbott, 31, of Stowe, both accused of aggravated disorderly conduct and hate-motivated criminal behavior, after the two of them allegedly yelled racial epithets at a man at the liquor store.
May 28 at 2:01 p.m., after conducting a traffic stop on the bypass, police arrested Pamela Putvain, 41, of Eden, and Amber Judd, 33, of Waterbury, on active warrants, after seeing both women in the car. The driver, Jamie Bocash, 43, of Johnson, was arrested for driving after criminal license suspension.
May 28 at 8:05 p.m., a months-long drama of a Pinewood Estates family continues, with each person taking turns calling police on the other, just trying in vain to get each other in trouble.
May 30 at 1:38 p.m., a tote full of tools worth $400 was allegedly swiped from the back of a truck on Bridge Street.
May 30 at 3:07 p.m., someone busted up five of the decorative flowerpots on the Bridge Street bridge and tossed them overboard into the Lamoille River.
June 1 at 8:29 p.m., an Upper Main Street resident wanted someone trespassed but only knew the unwelcome person’s first name. Police are trying to get more information.
