On the first Sunday of Lent, Pastor Mike wove together the scriptures from Genesis 9:8-17, when God gave Noah the rainbow as a sign of his covenant to never destroy the earth with a flood again; from 1 Peter 3:18-22, when were are reminded that Jesus is now the sign of God’s covenant with his people; and Mark 1:9-15, when Jesus overcomes his time of temptation in the wilderness and begins to preach, calling upon us to change our lives and trust in the good news of God and that we are called to love God and each other as Christ has loved us.
