Anthony “Tony” Gayle, 59, of Morrisville, died in the loving arms of his wife Erica, on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, at the University of Vermont Medical Center.
Tony, the most loving and devoted husband, father and friend, is survived by his wife of six years, Erica (Ouimette) Gayle, and their precious daughter, Rosalyn Gayle.
He will be greatly missed by many, including his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Audrey Lattie; father-in-law, Roger Ouimette; and grandparents, Hycelda Lawrence and William Lawrence; among others.
Tony was born on Nov. 15, 1963, in Saint Catherine, Jamaica, and grew up in the fields, planting and caring for the crops with his grandparents. His passion for landscaping grew, as well as his love for family, helping others and Jesus.
Tony was a caring, compassionate and funny man, whose impact will be forever felt by his family and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. His ability to support, sacrifice and love will be forever engrained in all he knew.
He was a loyal and family-oriented man who you could count on no matter the situation. Among the many whom he loved, his daughter, Rosalyn, was his world. Wherever he would be, Rosalyn was right beside him.
Tony’s happiness always shone through, welcoming you with his warm smile, and his dedication to his family was abundantly clear.
The Gayle family would like to thank the staff at the Surgical Intensive Care Department at UVM Medical Center for their amazing care, with a special thank you to nurse Walter Peterson.
Funeral services will be held at Catalyst Church on Raceway Road in Jericho on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, at noon. Food will follow after the service.
The Gayle family requests memorial gifts in Tony’s honor to be made to Rosalyn Gayle, P.O. Box 854, Morrisville VT 05661.
