Jeannette M. Pratt, 81, of Waterbury died in the comfort of her family on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.

Jeannette M. Pratt, 81, of Waterbury died in the comfort of her family on Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin.

She was born in Burlington Dec. 21, 1932, daughter of Leo and Melvina (Poissant) Bouffard, and graduated in 1950 from Winooski High School.

She was previously married to Alan Pratt, and was busy and happy as a homemaker and raising her eight children.

Later, she worked for IBM for 17 years before she retired.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her large, loving family.

Survivors include her children, Terri Pratt of Waterbury Center, Brenda Pratt and her companion Ed Drill of Waterbury Center, Sharon Pratt of Burlington, Debbie Pratt of Burlington, Mike Pratt of St. George, Doug Pratt and wife Jody of Bumpus Mills, Tenn., Steve Pratt of Williston and Mark Pratt of Burlington; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Leona Morin and husband Ed of Essex Center; and nieces and extended family.

A sister, Irene Bouffard, and a brother, Norman Bouffard, died earlier.

Jeannette’s family would like to extend sincere appreciation to the staff of the Squier House in Waterbury for the loving care and compassion shown during her stay there for the past six years.

A time of visitation and celebration for Jeannette Pratt was held Tuesday at the Perkins-Parker Funeral Home in Waterbury.
