NOTICE OF TAX SALE
The residents and nonresident owners, lien
holders, and mortgagees of lands in the Town
of Morristown, in the County of Lamoille, are
hereby notified that the taxes assessed by the
Town of Morristown for Tax Year 2018-2019
remain either in whole or in part unpaid, on the following described lands and
premises in the Town, to wit:
Greaves Farm Corporation. Parcel No. 08002
PROPERTY 1.
Being a portion of all and the same land and premises conveyed to Greaves Farm
Corporation by Warranty Deed of Elmorris Farms, Inc, dated February 22, 1980 and
recorded in Book 76, Pages 171-172 of the Morristown land records, also being a
portion of all the same lands and premises conveyed to Greaves Farm Corporation
by Quit Claim Deed of Pearly Martin Greaves, Esther L. Greaves, Stephen M.
Greaves, Gail G. Deuso, Carol G. Paine, Jayne D. Greaves and Elmorris Farms, Inc.,
dated May 1, 1980 and recorded in Book 76, Pages 190-191 of the Morristown land
records. Being a parcel of land, farm, and four dwellings located at 941 Washington
Highway, Morristown and containing 345.41 acres, more or less.

Being all the same lands and premises conveyed Stephen E. Kende by Warranty
Deed of Richard Stancliff, Jr., dated December 15, 2004 and recorded at Book 135,
Page 398 of the Morristown land records, also being the same lands and premises
conveyed to Stephen E. Kende by Quit Claim Deed of Abigail Kende, dated July 7,
2006 and recorded at Book 141, Page 771 of the Morristown land records. Being a
parcel of land and dwelling located at 1256 Stagecoach Road, Morristown,
containing 0.5 acres, more or less.
PROPERTY 3.
Dennis Morin and Anita Morin. Parcel No. 16111-0601
Being all the same lands and premises conveyed to Dennis Morin and Anita Morin
by Warranty Deed of Andre G. Valcour, Sr. and Marthe Valcour, dated April 7, 2005
and recorded at Book 136, Page 201 of the Morristown land records, also being the
same lands and premises conveyed to Dennis Morin and Anita Morin by Special
Warranty Deed of Andre Valcour, dated July 13, 2010 and recorded at Book 151,
Pages 337-338 of the Morristown land records. Being a parcel of land and dwelling
located at 1082 Stancliff Road, Morristown, containing 4.25 acres, more or less.
PROPERTY 4.
Robert E. Smith Living Revocable Trust. Parcel No. 12084
Being all the same lands and premises conveyed to conveyed to Robert E. Smith,
Trustee of the Robert E. Smith Living Revocable Trust by Quitclaim Deed of Robert
E. Smith, dated January 5, 2010 and recorded at Book 150, Page 150 of the
Morristown land records and being all the same lands and premises conveyed to
Robert E. Smith, Trustee of the Robert E. Smith Living Revocable Trust by Quitclaim
Deed of Robert E. Smith, dated January 5, 2010 and recorded at Book 150, Page
151 of the Morristown land records and being the same lands and premises
conveyed to Lynne Hemeon by Quitclaim Deed of Lynne Hemeon, Trustee of the
Robert E. Smith Revocable Trust, dated July 11, 2019 and recorded at Book 266,
Pages 102-103 of the Morristown Land Records. Being a parcel of land and dwelling
located at 725 Golf Course Road, Morristown, containing 3.2 acres, more or less.
PROPERTY 5.
Kimberly J. Percy and Leonard G. Percy. Parcel No. 23135
Being all the same lands and premises conveyed to Kimberly J. Percy and Leonard
G. Percy by Quit Claim Deed of Frederick G. Tourangeau, Jr., dated October 17,
2016 and recorded at Book 232, Pages 260-261 of the Morristown land records.
Being a parcel of land and dwelling located at 69 Union Street, Morrisville,
containing 0.2 acres, more or less.
Reference is hereby made to the above-mentioned instruments, the records thereof,
the references therein made, and their respective records and references, in further
aid of these descriptions.
So much of said lands and premises will be sold at public auction at the Morristown
Town Office, 43 Portland Street, Morrisville, Vermont on Thursday, February 6, 2020
at 10:00 a.m., as shall be required to discharge taxes with costs and fees unless
previously paid. Information regarding these properties and the amount of taxes, costs,
and fees due may be obtained from Sara Allyn Haskins, Collector of Delinquent Taxes,
Morristown Town Office, 43 Portland Street, Jeffersonville, Vermont (802) 888-6370.
Pursuant to 32 V.S.A. §5254(b), an owner of property being sold for taxes may
request in writing, not less than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the tax sale, that
only a portion of the property be sold. Such request must clearly identify the portion
of the property to be sold and must be accompanied by a certification from the
District Environmental Commission that the portion identified may be subdivided
and meets the minimum lot size requirements. In the event that the portion so
identified by the taxpayer cannot be sold for the amount of the unpaid tax and costs,
then the entire property will be sold to pay such unpaid tax and costs.
Taxpayers are further advised of their right to have a hearing before the Town of
Morristown Board for the Abatement of Taxes in accordance with the provisions of
24 V.S.A. §1535. Taxpayers wishing to have such a hearing must contact Town Clerk
Sara Allyn Haskins to request a hearing.
